Dog Daycare

Nothing makes us happier than seeing each dog arrive at Playtime, excited to start their day with all their friends! Upon entering our facility, each dog’s name and time of arrival are notated. From there a Daycare Assistant takes your dog on a leash walk outside to allow your dog to use the bathroom and introduce him/her to their assigned Playgroup.

Why are Playgroups so important? By creating specific Playgroups, we can maximize healthy play between dogs and minimize the risk of injury. Each Playgroup is created based on your dog’s size, age, and play style. Dogs come in all shapes and sizes. Having dogs that are comparable in size allows them to play comfortably with one another. Different playstyles are also important key factors when creating Playgroups. Playstyles can vary by breed, age, social experience, and energy level. There are dogs who like to chase and be chased, wrestle, play with balls and those dogs who prefer spending most of their time with our Daycare Assistants. These Playgroups allow us to give each dog the specialized attention they deserve and help us to continue to reinforce their social skills.

Once your dog joins their Playgroup, they will remain with their friends and our trained Daycare Assistants for the entire day. The first area is the fenced outdoor area where the dogs go to run and play with each other and different sized balls. Next our Daycare Assistants will bring the dogs in to romp around in our indoor playroom to participate in our daily themed activities. And lastly, the Playgroup will come into the R&R Room to enjoy some much needed “rest and relaxation” in their own crate with soft bedding and soothing music. This time is important for each dog’s wellbeing to provide them the opportunity to give their body a break from all of the play time with their friends. During this time the dogs can take a quick nap, eat their meals (provided by the owner if applicable) and participate in any of our monthly one-on-one Enrichment or Holiday Activities. Each Playgroup stays very busy and will continuously rotate into these three different areas from the start of their day until you pick up. At the end of the day, you get to take home a very tired dog!
